Heavy Contractor Support

One of two market areas upon which InterAlpine was founded is providing engineering support to heavy contractors. InterAlpine staff have worked with some of the largest contractors, including Granite, Borderland, Sundt, Meridian, Lloyd, Hunter, and CSW where we have provided innovative and practical designs to challenging problems. Our support services have included:

  • Temporary shoring to depths of more than 30 feet and within 15 feet of mainline railroads;

  • Design of soil nail walls to support power poles;

  • Sizing shoring boxes to depths of 27 feet and adjacent to railroads;

  • Design of falsework, including Dayton C49 and C41 systems;

  • Analysis and mitigation of construction failures;

  • Design of horizontal lifeline (HLL) systems that support 4 persons on lines of nearly 130 feet in length;

  • Recommendations for poorly-graded subgrades where compaction was problematic.
