Joshua T. Hewes, Ph.D., PE
With over 20 years of consulting engineering experience, numerous refereed journal publications, and many invited professional conference presentations, Josh helps lead the IAE Team in management of the business operations. Additionally, Josh provides technical expertise on snow loading and structural engineering of passive systems.
Scott Merry, Ph.D., PE
Scott serves as the principal geotechnical engineer for IAE and has over 30 years of engineering consulting experience. His specialty is working alongside general contractors to design practical solutions to unique problems. He has specialized expertise in the design of earth structures, including temporary and permanent shoring systems, railroad loading, and high-performance foundations (e.g., underpinning and micropiles). In heavy construction support, he has designed falsework (Dayton) support and horizontal lifeline systems.
Sean Strain, B.S. CE
Sean has worked across a broad range of civil engineering projects including passive avalanche defense systems and provides civil design and field monitoring services within the IAE Team.
