InterAlpine Engineers’ chief avalanche scientist Dave Scroggin has 35 years of experience in the evaluation of snow and ice hazards and will apply this expertise to help solve your problem. Typically a field reconnaissance will be performed to evaluate site conditions that may indicate avalanche risk, and that will be used as the basis for hazard assessment. Using information collected in the field, and other data like weather patterns or snow depth data, an analysis of avalanche potential and avalanche path extent is performed. An avalanche study report is the final product of the hazard evaluation and if necessary, includes recommendations for risk mitigation. When deemed appropriate, IAE has the capability to perform dynamic avalanche modelling using sophisticated software including “Rapid Mass Movements”, or "RAMMS” developed at the Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow, and Landscape Research (WSL).
