Structural and Geotechnical Engineering - Transportation & Bridge

InterAlpine Engineers Principals provide expertise in the technical specialties of structural and geotechnical engineering in support of both public and private transportation-related projects. IAE principal Josh Hewes has participated in the design of several unique bridges that required sophisticated analysis and design beyond that required for more typical bridge forms like precast girder or cast-in-place post-tensioned box girder bridges. These include steel and concrete tied-arch bridges as well as cable-supported bridges which exhibit highly nonlinear response to loading. Principal Scott Merry has worked extensively in the geotechnical industry supporting private developers, heavy-civil construction firms, and public agencies. Both Josh and Scott hold doctorate degree’s in engineering, which enables the IAE Team to tackle difficult engineering and construction issues that can occur and that necessitate unique approaches to problem solution.
